Once upon a time…

Time has a wonderful way of showing us what really matters…

Sauk Mountain Hike

???????????????????????????????

Mt. Bạker behind

IMG_3251

It’s always further than you thought. It’s always higher than you thought. And it’s always harder than you thought

IMG_3264

Skagit River. It’s so hazy there and sunny here

IMG_3268

Mt. Baker again. View from where we stopped to take a breath.

IMG_3274

You don’t have to be a rose to be beautiful. See, you have my attention!

IMG_3276

2.1 mile zigzag trail, rated as a “More Difficult” hike. But actually moderate most of the way and only difficult the last .5 mile to the top.

IMG_3277

Can’t remember how many times we said “Almost there” and then kept walking like forever.

IMG_3283

This is how I do a selfie. Love it!

IMG_3294

Trail getting nastier

IMG_3301

Almost there (again). Quote to keep in mind “Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached the top. Then you will see how low it was”.

IMG_3309

“Chasing angels or fleeing demons, go to the mountains.”

IMG_3304

Summer here and winter behind me. Can’t tell how much I love this feeling on being on top of everything. I am here to see the world, not for the world to see me (even if I posted this picture here :))

Songs shared by you: Comin’ back to me

When we are both moody…

JEFFERSON AIRPLANE LYRICS

 Comin’ Back To Me

The summer had inhaled

And held its breath too long
The winter looked the same
As if it never had gone
And through an open window
Where no curtain hung
I saw you, I saw you
Comin’ back to me
One begins to read between
The pages of a look
The shape of sleepy music
And suddenly you’re hooked
Through the rain upon the trees
The kisses on the run
I saw you, I saw you
Comin’ back to me
You came to stay and live my way
Scatter my love like leaves in the wind
You always say you won’t go away
But I know what it always has been
It always has been
A transparent dream
Beneath an occasional sigh
Most of the time
I just let it go by
Now I wish it hadn’t begun
I saw you, yes, I saw you
Comin’ back to me
Strolling the hills
Overlooking the shore
I realize I’ve been here before
The shadow in the mist
Could have been anyone
I saw you, I saw you
Comin’ back to me
Small things like reasons
Are put in a jar
Whatever happened to wishes
Wished on a star?
Was it just something
That I made up for fun?
I saw you, I saw you
Comin’

Songs shared by you: Today

And here’s the lyrics from http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/jeffersonairplane/today.html

JEFFERSON AIRPLANE LYRICS

 Today

Today, I feel like pleasing you

More than before
Today, I know what I want to do
But I don’t know what for
To be living for you
Is all I want to do
To be loving you
It’ll all be there
When my dreams come true

Today, you’ll make me say
That I somehow have changed
Today, you’ll look into my eyes
I’m just not the same
To be any more than all I am
Would be a lie
I’m so full of love
I could burst apart
And start to cry

Today, everything you want
I swear it will all come true
Today, I realize how much
I’m in love with you
With you standing here
I could tell the world
What it means to love
To go on from here
I can’t use words
They don’t say enough

Please, please listen to me
It’s taken so long to come true
It’s all for you, all for you

August Adventures (1)

IMG_3145

Varsity Theater on the Ave, an afternoon show of Hercules, and I had the whole auditorium to myself. Was scared!

IMG_3147

Beautiful view of Mt Rainier from Lake Washington, Magnuson Park. It’s worth the 2.8 mile walk in the sun from U Village. My first serious walk on the Burke-Gilman Trail.

IMG_3148

And here is where I thought I would come play in the water. My Moroccan friend, however, took me to a different beach nearby where there are more people swimming.

IMG_3152

The big gravels was initially my concern, but then I saw a woman walking into the water with her sandals on. I wonder how it feels to swim with sandals…

IMG_3159

And these lovely shells came in the mail last week. The sender was as silly as always to use a big package for these little things. Imagine you put a hamburger in a refrigerator and mail the whole thing…
